Halloween Party
Boo! Spirits were high this afternoon at the WAC’s annual Halloween party…as was the weather. Who would have thought we’d have a 18c degree day?!
With over 100 people in attendance, it was a fabulous turnout. As the weather was so nice, many people could enjoy some fresh air and playtime in the garden.
For those willing to brave it indoors – thanks volunteers for making the space so spooky and ghoulish – there were plenty of activities and entertainment, for ghosts and goblins of all ages. Rooms were dedicated to face painting, a mystery box exploring, crafting, spooky story time in the dimly lit library, and a disco where creatures of all sizes could strut their stuff. Many bigger kids banned together to attempt solving a complex and multi-leveled treasure hunt.
To round out the afternoon, two winners were announced in the costume contest: Denise Kempshall, as The Dark Death Witch, took home the medal for Scariest costume and Desiree Mitchell, dressed as Disney’s Cruella de Vil, claimed the Most Creative costume prize.
Patience was tested as the party wore on, as kids asked “when is Trunk or Treating?” Once the gate was opened, kids tore through the parking lot snagging pieces of candy from all the decorated trunks. Energy was high and I’m sure bedtime was a challenge, given all the sugar and excitement, but many amazing memories were made throughout the day, so I’m sure worth it!
