Who we are
The WAC & Learning Tree School, established in 1997, is a non-profit club designed to provide a location for an international membership to socialize, learn and support one another in an English-speaking environment. We offer fun events and activities, a library full of English books and an excellent English school for children aged 2-14 years old.
We are based in Uster near the train station.
Position description
We invite you to join our truly international team! You will be working closely with the
Treasurer (Board member), the Club Office Managerand the School Administrator. Your responsibilities include:
Bookkeeping
- General Ledger entries.
- Monthly reconciliation of bank, petty cash and debtors
- Manage accounts receivables (Dunnings and incoming payments)
- Monthly preparation of financial statements which are presented at the Board meetings by the treasurer
- Manage Year End work (accruals, provisions other tasks)
- Preparation of year-end financial statements & coordination with our auditor
- Ensuring that all records are kept in a safe place for the statutory duration
Payroll
- Filing and reporting year end statements with all social insurances and Quellensteuearamt.
- Ensuring that the proper deduction rates are in the salary module.
- You are responsible for communicating with SVA and insurances.
Qualifications
You work well independently but also as part of our team of international volunteers and staff. You take full ownership of your work and are passionate to support a non-profit organization.
You have:
- Solid bookkeeping skills and knowledge of accepted accounting principles
- Attention to detail, confidentiality and a practical approach to problem-solving
- 2 years of work experience in a similar role
- Oral and written fluency in English and German (B2)
- Experience in working with MS Office, especially Excel
